Marijuana-Infused Tea

Marijuana-infused tea is an alternative method of taking cannabis that is surprisingly easy to prepare at home.

Marijuana tea has its roots in Jamaican and Indian communities, where the medical benefits of cannabis have long been recognized. In fact, Jamaican mothers traditionally used marijuana tea to help relieve morning sickness and stress during pregnancy.

Even in countries where cannabis is widely accepted, tea is considered a healthier alternative to smoking. This perception still exists today and marijuana tea remains popular among medical marijuana patients.

Like edibles, tea also provides a different therapeutic experience than smoking. Since the active ingredients are absorbed through the digestive tract, the onset of action is delayed and the effects are longer-lasting.

The effects of marijuana tea are felt 30-90 minutes after ingestion and can last 4-8 hours long. If you’re curious, below is a simple recipe that you can try yourself.

Marijuana Tea Recipe

Ingredients

1 cup boiling water
1 teaspoon cannabutter (See recipe here)
1 tea cup
1 tea bag

Directions

1. Add the 1 tsp. of cannabutter and tea bag to the cup.
2. Boil the water and pour it in.
3. Let the cannabutter fully dissolve.
4. Remove the tea bag, add milk (optional), and consume.

Total Time: 10 minutes
